Nude-a-tweet Publicity - Poonam Pandey

           Gaining publicity these days is not so difficult specially when you are a NETIZEN. In these days Facebook , LinkedIn, Twitter have made it easy for any generalite to become a star overnite.Twitter has always served a major contributor in today’s world for quick publicity stunts online. Many of the netizens now-a-days market themselves and their ideas online through various social networking sites and the most important factor in this whole process is that it is completely FREE.


Poonam Pandey  is a very good example of what I would like to call “THE TWEET CELEBRITIES”. This 19 year old model from Mumbai is quite clear about what she wants from life and she seems to be confident  about what it takes to make the picture large. She was one of the top 8 contestants of the Gladrags 2010 and now featuring in the Kingfisher calendar. Despite all these activities hardly anyone noticed the glamorous looking model. So she tweeted during the Indo-Pak semifinal that “SHE HAS OFFERED TO STRIP-TEASE NUDE IF INDIA WINS THE WORLD CUP”.  Now the netizens are waiting for the model to go nude. Infact she is the current hot topic for discussions online. Everyone is excited to know whether she’s gonna get nude or not? Poonam seems to enjoy the publicity she is getting, rather she has tweeted recently “once Steve Forbes said "A promise made should be a promise kept." so guys soon will complete my promise just Wait n watch”. 

 She already has 9,436 followers on twitter.Before the finals, Poonam wrote to BCCI that she was serious about baring it all for the boys, as it would be a therapeutic method to boost and inspire people to perform better in any field. When asked about this cheap publicity, Poonam firmly said that she was doing this to excite the Indian players to play better, and not for her own publicity.Whether she does it or not is a further supreme question whose answer is expected by whole of India.



 Can anyone really blame her for being a model who “wants a limelight” when in today’s world it is okay for people to grab every opportunity to broaden their career horizon? Such an act is actually is like playing with the national sentiment of winning the world cup. Such cheap publicity stunts may also encourage other such maniacs to do something crazy things like this. We can’t even imagine what the god of cricket-Sachin Tendulkar will feel (or must have felt, if he knows about this news) when he is told that someone wants to cheaply motivate the players by striping. That's extremely disgusting!!!!

Finally now netizens should decide that they should not give such acts any kind of attention. So people doing these crazy things are discouraged from doing so and are kept away from brandishing our national sentiments.
